Hi, Just thought i'd share some good news with you all, Ellie (2yrs) has started to walk, she's been taking a few steps across the living room and holding my hand and walking when we're out. She has also started walking with her frame, as you can imagine its a huge relief and a day i was starting to...

Re: Has anyone's child had leg splints??

Ellie is now walking, well taking a few steps on her own and with her walking frame!! so she no longer uses her splints during the day, instead she now has to sleep with it on, just for a few hours though. Sadly she's figured out how to take them off, even with a sock covering them, so does anyone h...

Re: Has anyone's child had leg splints??

Thanks for all your replies. Well she's had her AFO's for a few months now and sadly because they are so big (taking her from a size 4 to a 7) she has started to walk with her toes overlapping, so we're back to square one, and like LeaciesMum said she can't crawl in them or move around much at all s...

Has anyone's child had leg splints??

Hi, My daughter Ellie has very mild left hemi, and she's started to pull herself up to walk, sadly she has also extreamly flexable joints, which alothough its an advantage when it comes to moving her arm around it's not when it comes to standing. She has started to bend her 'good' ankle in to help h...

My Eldest, Ellie, has CP and she was 7 months old when we found out we were pregnant again, the week after that we got her official diagnosis of CP. It never crossed our minds that CP would be a problem until much later in the pregnancy, and the more we thought about it the more we realised that hav...

Hi, just wanted to say i'm new and i also joined as i was feeling really alone. My daughter has a mild form of CP but they have discussed botox to reduce her hand's tightness.

Hopefully we'll both find the support here we need :)

Hi, i'm new and i'm not sure where to start..............

My daughter was diganosed with mild left hemiplegia CP when she was 4 months old, she's now almost 20 months old and can 'bum shuffle', crawl and pull herself to standing she's not able to walk yet. She has made such a massive leap and i know she is very lucky to be as mild as she is, but it still d...
