Gait Trainers

Postby sarahsmom » Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:02 pm

My daughter uses a gait trainer to get around and it has been wonderful since she got it this past summer. Finally she is able to go where she wants when she wants. Its a bit limited but she's figured out how to get around furniture. It has helped with a bit of her motor skills as she has learned how to open drawers and throw everything out of them. She also started wanting her privacy (she's 2 1/2) and she will go into her room and play with her toys (that I've already placed on a table that are at her level). If I open the door to take a peek, she will get mad. LOL!!! Little girls and their tantrums.

My daughter is of the same behaviour!
Sometimes it's really irritating, but on the whole it's quite cute!

I wish for the day when my daughter can actually get her gait trainer moving. Unfortunately she doesn't have the movement in her legs enough to propel forward. Occasionally she gets it to roll a bit, but not intentionally.
