Infant meeting milestones - still CP?

Postby bryssalie » Wed Dec 09, 2015 8:10 pm

I have a 6-month old that was dx with CP two months ago. MRI was normal, but he was hypertonic and had opistothonos in the neuro office. Tightness especially in his right arm (hand fisted) and trunk. Within the last two months he has started meeting all of his milestones. Rolls both directions, has started to sit on his own, even started beginning steps of crawling. He currently goes to PT 2x week.

My question is if it is possible to have CP and still meet all milestones? The tightness seems to have decreased as well. He isn't tight very often, and can bring himself out of it if he is. Still has opistothonos in his neck when sleeping, but not at any other time (wondering if this is a habit at this point?)

Has anyone parented a child that met all milestones and still kept a CP diagnosis?
