New baclofen pump

Postby ashley102 » Fri Aug 12, 2016 12:54 pm

Hi, I received a baclofen pump 4 weeks ago. It is my 2nd one. My first one became infected after four months.

I have several questions /discoveries that I would like to know if anyone else has experienced:
After both implants, I noticed increased skin sensitivity in everything I touch.
Spinal leaks? I'm still on bed rest until the csf leak heals.
Once healed did you have to be cautious about certain activities that bend or twist your abdomen or spine?
I have more difficulty using the restroom. (Initiating urination requires more concentration.)

I'll probably have additional questions in the future. Thanks in advance

Hi Ashley,
Welcome to the forum. I have had mine for quite some time. In regards to your questions, I have not experienced the increased sensitivity. I did experience the csf leaks. That was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I was down for about 6 weeks. There should be no need to worry about certain activities. I am very active and have not had any issues. As far as the urinary issue goes, I have not had any problems like that but I hear it is somewhat common.

Feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

Mike
