I have a daughter with CP who's just turning 3. She can't crawl or walk, but she scoots pretty well (although she sometimes has trouble getting over ridges). I'd like to give her more independence, and I think she's having nighttime anxiety because she's trapped in her crib alone. I'd like to be able to move her to a toddler bed, but she'd have no way to get in or out of it. I'm thinking about putting her crib mattress on the floor, and somehow building a foam ramp up to the side, so she could learn to scoot up and into bed. Does anyone have any experience with this, or is there any product out there for this purpose? Or what did you do if your child couldn't get into a toddler bed?
